Hope all had a wonderful Christmas, and are celebrating the other holidays that go on at this time of year..We didn’t have a dance last week or will not have one of Friday the 30th, BUT will be back on the 31st of Dec. to celebrate New Years w/Andre Thierry and Zydeco Magic..There will be a champagne toast at 12, there will be food, cakes, other stuff, party favors, great dancing, Andre playing as only he can, and cool people..what more could you want or get for $30 a piece?? If there are some folks there, I’ll do a quick lesson at 8:30, and the music will go on around 9ish, and go till after midnight..so come on down.

      & the Soileau  Zydeco Band, plus Dancing w/ the Starz Acadien Style!

    *Blue Moon—Cedric Watson Creole Band; time uncertain—9ish. No dance

      floor.

    *Geno Delafose will play the NYE dance at Vermilionville again this year.

SUNDAY, JAN. 1

    *The New Year’s Day dance brunch with L’Angelus Cajun Family Band

       has been cancelled as the church is having masses all day long. The band

       is working on possibly holding a dance on Saturday. Stay tuned.

*Roy Carrier’s Offshore Lounge in Lawtell will reopen for the 15th. Annual

      Carrier Family Festival on New Year’s Day. Music begins at 3 PM until

      we have had enough. Bands lined up so far include Chubby Carrier & the

      Bayou Swamp Band, Dikki Du & Zydeco Krewe, Dwight Carrier & the

      Black Cat Zydeco Ro Doggs, Corey “Lil Pop” Ledet, “T” Broussard, 

      Lil’ Pookie & the Zydeco Sensations & Gerard Delafose–so far!

      Directions–go into Lawtell on the one way street, turn right at the first

      gravel street (McClellen), go over the railroad tracks, immediately turn

      left onto Perry & go to the club.

      This will be a fund-raiser for renovations to the club so it can reopen on

      a regular basis. Cover–$20. Food–$5/serving—red  beans & rice, fried

      chicken, gumbo, bbq. Commemorative t-shirts & vintage Roy Carrier cds

      will be for sale.

    *Annual New Year’s Day Cajun Jam/Potluck: 4 PM until ?? Hosted by Deb

Portland Waterfront Blues Festival will run from Wednesday, July 4th thru Sunday, July 8th. We are working on zydeco for Friday, Saturday & Sunday at the Front Porch Stage with a big dance floor. Planning for some great zydeco bands this year–bigger & better than ever! It’s our 25th. anniversary, so it will be a “blow out.” You won’t want to miss it. & Two Step.  It breaks down the basics of each of these dances as
